Martyrs (2008)

The martyrs is a french movie directed by Pascal Laugier. It potrays a young woman's quest for revenge against the people who kidnapped and tormented her as a child leads her and a friend, who is also a victim of child abuse, on a terrifying journey into a living hell of depravity.

I know french cinema isn't easy-in-th-eye but this movie really blew me away. It has little bit of fantasy but in my opinion it shows the lenghts humen can go to answer the question of what really exists after death. It keeps you in constant agony and it can be kind of confusing in the beginning but it's pretty clear in the end. The images are really disturbing and it sticks with you after a long time. It made me wonder and think about human life. I totally recomend it!
